New Delhi: The Haywood Mall in the northern state of Bihar closed on Thursday due to the fire that broke out earlier in the day, the local media reported.
The fire broke out in the shopping mall and the fire department has started extinguishing the blaze, according to a report in the Hindustan Times newspaper.
The local government has set up a rescue operation, which will be carried out by volunteers from the fire brigade and the police, the paper said.
It did not say if any injured were in the mall.
The building, located on the main road between the state capital and Jodhpur, was being renovated.
