We are entering an era of the new shopping malls, which are designed to appeal to an ever-changing customer demographic.
Some are in prime locations like New York City’s Times Square or Los Angeles’ Century City.
Others are tucked away on the outskirts of major cities.
The new malls will have to cater to a larger market, including millennials, people between the ages of 20 and 50, as well as a growing segment of the population who have little disposable income, according to the research firm The Reseller Index.
The mall industry has undergone a rapid evolution since the 1970s.
The rise of the internet has created new opportunities for people looking for places to live, shop, eat, and work.
Many of the big mall chains have been expanding into new locations and marketing to the millennial demographic, who are expected to be the largest consumer segment of all.
The malls have become a hot topic on social media after a man died and a police officer was shot at a Macy’s store in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The city’s mayor, Carolyn Goodman, called the shootings a hate crime.
The department is investigating the shooting and said the shooter was known to police.
Mall owner Hulen Group has said the gunman was armed and had access to the mall.
Hulen says it is working with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, which is investigating whether the shooting was a hate incident.
Mall spokesperson John Gorman says Hulens security team will remain in place throughout the night and “will be closely monitoring the area.”
Hulens is expanding into the heart of downtown Las Vegas and its new shopping mall, the Hilton Garden Inn.
The company has been trying to find new ways to attract shoppers and boost occupancy levels at the mall in recent months.
Hilton said last week it has hired several outside consultants to conduct an independent review of its security measures and the response to the shooting.
The consultants are expected back at work in the coming days, a Hilton spokeswoman said.
“We are deeply saddened by the recent tragedy in Las Venis and our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the victim,” Hilton said in a statement.
“Our thoughts and thoughts go out to the loved ones and loved ones of those who were impacted by the tragic events in Las Veis.
