Asbury, NJ–(BUSINESS WIRE)–(BUSEWOMAN)–Asbury Park, New Jersey–(NYSE:ASK)–“The mall is in the midst of a renaissance.
Our stores are being re-imagined to meet today’s consumer needs.
It is a great time to shop at Asbury,” said Jeff Dunn, President and CEO of Aspen Mall, the country’s largest mall, in a press release.
The Aspen-owned mall has been reopening in mid-August and is expected to reopen in mid 2019.
The Aspen brand, which dates back to 1902, is synonymous with the town of Aspens in western New Jersey.
It’s the oldest continuously operating mall in the United States and is one of the few major shopping centers in the world that’s still operating.
“Aspen Mall has a history that dates back more than 50 years, and we are committed to maintaining that legacy,” Dunn said.
“Our stores are built with a passion for what makes Aspen a destination, and our staff is passionate about helping shoppers discover what makes this shopping destination so special.”
Dunn added, “Aspen is an icon in the region, and that will be reflected in the reopening of our stores and the reinstatement of our community-oriented shopping experience.”
The mall’s reopening comes as a result of the re-establishment of a new mall-like shopping district in Aspen.
The Mall of Aspects is a mixed-use development of residential, retail and public space with a mix of shops and entertainment venues.
In addition to the reworking of the Aspen Town Center, the Mall of West Aspen will reopen in early 2020, as will the Asperges Town Center and the Aspents Town Center.
